While not a coffee shop in name, Spiegel Bar & Bistro does a fantastic job on fulfilling the need for icy cold lattes in the middle of a sweltering day. Housed in a stark white European-style building right next to the iconic Blenduk Church, Speigel brings forth memories of the past.

One could opt to go to a couple different Tiong Bahru Bakery outlets?there?s the original, of course, the safari-themed one in Dempsey, and the ones spread throughout the city, but I chose to go to the one in charming Holland Village.

Enter Stamping Ground Coffee, one such business that shares a roof with two others establishments. It resides in a leafier part of town where it shares a space with Petite Fleur Florists and East Mezzanine venue space. Together, they are affectionately known as Singapore?s flower caf?.

WHEELER'S YARD

Situated down Lor Ampas in the sepia-toned neighborhood of Balestier, Wheeler?s Yard is a giant of a coffee shop the likes of which you?d be hard-pressed to find in Singapore. Making a home out of an old warehouse, the space is split between a glass-lined caf? area and a bicycle atelier.
